Concurso internacional de fotografia destaca culturas e comunidades do Atlântico

Inscrições vão até o dia 15 de agosto e selecionados terão seus trabalhos exibidos em eventos e publicações internacionais

Está aberta a chamada para o All-Atlantic Photo Competition: A Celebration of Culture and Communities, concurso de fotografia promovido pela All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance (AAORIA). A iniciativa convida fotógrafos profissionais e amadores a registrarem a riqueza cultural e os modos de vida das comunidades que compartilham o Oceano Atlântico.

As inscrições devem ser feitas no site da AAORIA, até o dia 15 de agosto, interessados podem enviar fotos que celebrem saberes tradicionais, expressões artísticas, laços familiares, práticas sociais e sabores típicos das regiões costeiras. A proposta é dar visibilidade à diversidade cultural presente ao longo do Atlântico, destacando a conexão entre o oceano e as comunidades que dependem dele.

As imagens devem se encaixar em uma das quatro categorias temáticas:

1. Tradições Vivas – celebrações, rituais e costumes;
   
2. Comunidades Costeiras e Laços Familiares – retratos do cotidiano e da convivência em regiões atlânticas;
   
3. Expressões Artísticas – manifestações culturais como música, dança, artes visuais e artesanato;
   
4. Sabores do Atlântico – práticas alimentares e preparações culinárias que refletem a relação entre oceano e cultura.
   

Os três primeiros colocados de cada categoria serão premiados e as fotos serão exibidas no Fórum All-Atlantic 2025, no site da All-Atlantic Alliance e farão parte de um álbum de fotos digital. Outros 10 selecionados vão receber uma menção honrosa pela contribuição e as imagens também serão divulgadas no site da aliança e farão parte do álbum digital.

International Photo Contest Highlights Atlantic Cultures and Communities

Submissions are open until August 15, and winners will be featured in international events and publications

The call for participants is now open for the All-Atlantic Photo Competition: A Celebration of Culture and Communities, a photography contest organized by the All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance (AAORIA). The initiative invites professional and amateur photographers to capture the cultural richness and ways of life of communities connected by the Atlantic Ocean.

Registrations must be submitted through the AAORIA website, until August 15. Participants can submit photos that celebrate traditional knowledge, artistic expressions, family ties, social practices, and typical coastal tastes. The goal is to highlight the cultural diversity along the Atlantic and emphasize the deep connection between the ocean and the communities that depend on it.

Photos must fall into one of the following four thematic categories:

• Traditions Alive – celebrations, rituals, and customs;
  
• Coastal Communities and Family Ties – portraits of everyday life and relationships in Atlantic regions;
  
• Artistic Expressions – cultural manifestations such as music, dance, visual arts, and handicrafts;
  
• Tastes of the Atlantic – culinary practices and food preparations that reflect the relationship between ocean and culture.
  

The top three entries in each category will be awarded, and the selected photographs will be displayed at the All-Atlantic Forum 2025, featured on the All-Atlantic Alliance website, and included in a digital photo book. An additional ten entries will receive honorable mentions for their contributions, and these images will also be shared on the Alliance’s website and included in the digital book.
